Trump to discuss agency cuts with OMB’s Vought on Thursday

(Reuters) -U.S. President Donald Trump said he will meet with Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought on Thursday to determine which “Democrat Agencies” to cut and whether those reductions will be temporary or permanent.
“I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity,” he said in a Truth Social post.
On Wednesday, Trump’s administration froze $26 billion for Democratic-leaning states, following through on a threat to use the government shutdown to target Democratic priorities.
The government shutdown, the 15th since 1981, suspended scientific research, financial oversight, environmental cleanup efforts and a wide range of other activities.
