Speculation Swirls Around Trump’s Pick For VP

2 days ago President Joe Biden is working to quell Democratic anxieties over his unsteady showing in his debate with ex-President Donald Trump. He's not the debater he used to be, Biden conceded at a rally Friday in North Carolina. But he added: “The choice in this election is simple: Donald Trump will destroy our democracy. I will defend it.” Democratic lawmakers are expressing plenty of concern but sticking by him for now.

Meanwhile, speculation is swirling about Donald Trump’s choice for Vice President. Two of the top contenders would pose a problem because they are both from Florida… where Donald Trump currently lives. Byron Donalds and Marco Rubio are believed to be on Trump’s short list. This would mean they might have to change their state of residency or risk losing Florida’s 30 electoral votes… according to the 12th amendment to the constitution. Florida has the third most electoral votes behind California with 54 and Texas with 40.
The amendment was added to the Constitution in 1804 to keep large states from dominating. In 2000 Dick Cheney had to change his residency from Texas to Wyoming to run with George W. Bush.
