Oklahoma Man Facing Prison Time For Bullets In Bag In Turks And Caicos

1 week ago Oklahoma man Ryan Watson could face up to 12 years in prison in Turks and Caicos. This is after airport staff discovered ammunition in his luggage during a birthday trip with his wife. Despite claiming the bullets were hunting ammunition mistakenly brought along, laws in the region could still impose a mandatory sentence.

Watson's wife, Valerie, was initially charged as well but had her charges dropped and was able to return home to their children. The US Embassy in the Bahamas had previously warned travelers about laws prohibiting firearms or ammunition possession in Turks and Caicos.

Another American, Bryan Hagerich, also recently faced charges after accidentally leaving ammunition in his bag. Hagerich has been in the country for 70 days and is awaiting trial.
