Trump fires Democratic board members of the credit union watchdog -statements

Regulators testify before a Senate Banking hearing about recent bank failures on Capitol Hill in Washington

(Reuters) – The White House has fired Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka, two Democratic board members of the National Credit Union Administration, the officials said in statements on Wednesday.

“If a President can fire an NCUA Board member at any time, how will we maintain public trust in our nation’s financial services regulatory system?” Harper said in a statement he posted on LinkedIn.
