2 Officers Killed In DPS Helicopter Crash

Two Arizona law enforcement officers are dead after a Department of Public Safety helicopter crashed while responding to an active shooter call near Flagstaff.
Officials say the aircraft went down Wednesday night while assisting Flagstaff Police and other agencies. The helicopter caught fire after impact, according to federal authorities.
The pilot and a state trooper — who also served as a paramedic — were killed in the crash.
Authorities say the shooting suspect suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds and was taken into custody. No other injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash.
