Armed Person Arrested Near U.S. Capitol Building

One person is in custody after bringing a gun near the U.S. Capitol earlier today in Washington, D.C.

Just after noon, authorities say a man parked his car, got out with a shotgun, and began running toward the Capitol building.

Officers ordered him to drop the weapon and get on the ground. Police say he complied and was arrested.
