At This Hour With Dan Thomas

4 weeks ago French prosecutors say they have extended the police custody order for rapper Travis Scott. He was arrested early Friday at a Paris hotel after an altercation with a security guard. A statement from the Paris prosecutor's office Saturday said the rapper remains in custody after the order was extended Friday night. Scott was arrested after police were called to hotel to arrest Scott, whose birth name is Jacques Bermon Webster II. The rapper is in Paris for the Olympics. He watched the United States rally over Serbia in the men’s basketball semifinal on Thursday night.

No Restrictions for Covid Positive Athletes

Paris Olympics organizers have issued health recommendations, but no restrictions, for dozens of athletes who tested positive for COVID-19. That allowed athletes like Noah Lyles to compete if they wish and are able. This comes in sharp contrast with the Tokyo Olympics, which had to be delayed by one year due to the pandemic and were held under intense COVID-19 regulations — and no fans allowed at any events. Just six months later, the Winter Games in Beijing had even stricter protocols because of China’s zero tolerance policy. The World Health Organization says at least 40 athletes have tested positive so far.
