Bayer ordered to pay $2.1B / Jury says Roundup causes cancer
A jury in Georgia has ordered Monsanto parent Bayer to pay nearly $2.1 billion in damages to a man who says the company’s Roundup weed killer caused his cancer. That's according to attorneys representing the plaintiff. The verdict on Friday marks the latest in a long-running series of court battles Monsanto has faced over its Roundup herbicide. The agrochemical giant says it will appeal the verdict. Lawyers for the client said the penalties awarded include $65 million in compensatory damages and $2 billion in punitive damages. That marks one of the largest legal settlements reached in a Roundup-related case to date.

French actor Gérard Depardieu will face charges in a Paris court of sexually assaulting two women during the filming of a movie in 2021. Depardieu is accused of groping a set dresser and an assistant director during production of a film. Prosecutors allege the incidents included obscene remarks and inappropriate touching. The actor denies the charges.

The Habitat Comedy Club where Kamra had performed was ransacked Sunday and said Monday it was shutting down indefinitely.
