Bayer ordered to pay $2.1B / Jury says Roundup causes cancer
A jury in Georgia has ordered Monsanto parent Bayer to pay nearly $2.1 billion in damages to a man who says the company’s Roundup weed killer caused his cancer. The agrochemical giant says it will appeal the verdict. Lawyers for the client said the penalties awarded include $65 million in compensatory damages and $2 billion in punitive damages. That marks one of the largest legal settlements reached in a Roundup-related case to date.

First in integrity. First in courage. Guess who won this match?” Kennedy, the secretary of Health and Human Services, has rejected an “anti-vaccine” label but has repeated his skeptical views of vaccines in interviews and other public statements. Kunal Kamra is known for his biting political humor and has faced the ire of Hindu nationalist groups and political parties, particularly for his jokes about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party's politicians. The Habitat Comedy Club where Kamra had performed was ransacked Sunday and said Monday it was shutting down indefinitely.
