Florida Panhandle Braces For Hurricane Isaias

(Miami, FL) -- Hurricane Isaias is expected to reach the western Florida panhandle coast this evening. The National Hurricane Center reports Isaias remains a Category 3 storm and is about 145 miles southeast of the Mississippi River. It's packing winds of 120 miles an hour and heading north at 16 miles per hour. A hurricane warning is in effect from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle, where forecasters are warning of storm surge along the coast and "life-threatening inundation" over the next day and a half. Some areas could see storm surge up to seven feet and up to 15 inches of rainfall. Utilities are also bracing for power outages across the region.
