Former GOP Whip, AZ Senator Jon Kyl Dies At 84

(Phoenix, AZ) -- Former Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl is dead at the age of 84. The Arizona Republican's family announced his death on Thursday. Kyl was sworn into the Senate in 1995 and retired in 2013. He returned briefly in 2018 to fill the seat of former Senator John McCain after he passed away. Kyl served in the House as well from 1987 to 1995.
