Harry and Meghan To Return To UK After Yearslong Royal Rift

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are planning to return to the United Kingdom with their children for an extended stay beginning this fall, marking a significant shift after more than six years based primarily in the United States.

The couple will not resume their roles as working members of the royal family. Their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have enrolled in British schools and are expected to begin classes in September.

The family plans to live at a private residence outside London while maintaining their home in Montecito, California, as well as their property in Portugal. Meghan is expected to continue operating her business from Britain, while Harry will focus on his U.K.-based charitable work.

The move comes amid signs of improving relations between Harry and his father, King Charles III, who is undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. Harry has publicly expressed interest in reconciliation, and the return could allow Charles to spend more time with Archie and Lilibet.

Harry and Meghan stepped away from royal duties in 2020 and eventually settled in California following a highly publicized split from the royal establishment. Despite the apparent thaw with Charles, tensions between Harry and his brother, Prince William, reportedly remain.
