Iranian Port Blockade Resumes As U.S.-Iran Conflict Escalates

Fighting between the United States and Iran intensified Wednesday as the U.S. reimposed its naval blockade on Iranian ports and launched another wave of strikes, prompting fresh threats from Tehran over energy exports and shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The renewed hostilities come after President Donald Trump ordered the blockade restored, saying it is aimed at preventing Iranian attacks on commercial shipping and pressuring
Tehran back to the negotiating table. Iranian officials responded by warning they could halt additional Middle East energy exports if the blockade continues.

The escalating conflict has further undermined hopes of reviving a temporary agreement that had been intended to reduce tensions and restore normal shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important energy corridors.
