Lawmakers Prepare To Vote On 'Epstein Files Transparency Act'

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are set to vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a bill that would force the Justice Department to release all records tied to Jeffrey Epstein — including files related to his death in federal custody.

The vote comes as former President Donald Trump has shifted his position on the release, now urging House Republicans to vote in favor. Trump said there is “nothing to hide” and called ongoing controversy surrounding Epstein a “Democrat hoax.”

If passed, the legislation would require the release of all Epstein-related documents and communications, while still allowing redactions to protect victims’ identities and avoid compromising active investigations.

This marks the closest Congress has come to publicizing these records since Epstein’s death in 2019.
