Man Charged With Setting Spokane Wildfire Went To Prison For Killing His Father

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A man who went to prison for manslaughter in his father’s 2010 killing in Arizona has been charged with intentionally setting the largest of the wildfires wreaking havoc on Washington state’s second-largest city. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says 37-year-old Aaron F. Farinacci, of Spokane, was arrested Monday and booked on suspicion of first-degree arson in connection with the Old Trails Fire. It is the biggest of the three blazes that have destroyed at least 700 buildings and forced about 67,000 people from their homes in and around Spokane. None of them have been contained at all. Farinacci's bond was set at $1 million and he's due to appear in court later Tuesday.
