The U.S. Secret Service says a man has been detained after breaking windows and causing property damage at Vice President JD Vance’s Ohio home.
Agents assigned to the residence responded early Monday after hearing a loud noise and found the man attempting to enter the home with a hammer. The incident occurred at the vice president’s house in Cincinnati’s Walnut Hills neighborhood.
Authorities say the home was unoccupied at the time, and Vice President Vance and his family were not in Ohio.
The Secret Service is coordinating with local police and the U.S. attorney’s office as potential charges are reviewed. Vance’s office says his family has since returned to Washington.
