Authorities have arrested a new suspect in the 1984 rape and murder of 16-year-old Theresa Fusco on Long Island. Richard Bilodeau, 63, was arraigned Wednesday on two counts of murder.
Investigators linked Bilodeau to the crime through DNA found on a straw he discarded last year, which matched evidence from the 1984 case. If convicted, he faces 25 years to life. Fusco’s father described the arrest as “heartbreaking” but expressed hope it will bring closure.
