(Newport, OR) -- Evacuations were ordered in coastal Oregon triggered by possible ammonia contamination after a seafood processing plant caught fire. Authorities said on social media Sunday the fire took place at Pacific Seafood in the city of Newport. The city said Sunday afternoon that level three evacuations were in place for those within a one-mile radius of the plant "due to potential ammonia contamination in the area from the plant." The Oregon State Fire Marshal said Sunday afternoon that an ammonia tank had been found and its didn't appear to be punctured or leaking. The city said no injuries have been reported and Pacific Seafood said it was not aware of any reported injuries and all its team members were accounted for.
