Race Is On After McConnell’s Exit From Senate Leadership

15 hours ago Senator Mitch McConnell has announced that he will vacate his position as the Republican Senate leader in November, which means the race is on for a new leader of the upper chamber
So far, a handful of Senators are rising to the top of the list to take his place.
The front-runners are Senators John Cornyn of Texas and John Thune of South Dakota. Another name near the top is Senator Rick Scott of Florida but many experts feel he’s not a serious contender.
Many speculating on the topic feel that if Trump wins the election, his endorsement or effort for a different candidate could have a major impact on who the new leader of the Senate will be.
If Kamala wins, they say the person who is better prepared to stop a Harris agenda will be the one who takes the reins.
