Scott Bessent Gives Timetable on Iran’s Impending Economic Collapse

After months of promises that often seemed to lead nowhere, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has finally put a timeline on Iran’s economic reckoning.
In an interview over the weekend, Bessent said Iran is expected to make its final oil delivery to China within the next two weeks, after which, Tehran will have little left to trade and even less leverage at the bargaining table. That would allow the Treasury Department’s Operation Economic Outcast sanctions to take full effect, tightening the financial pressure on Iran until it has little choice but to accept a U.S.-written peace agreement on American terms.
