Speaker Mike Johnson To Tie Election Integrity SAVE Act To Spending Bill For House Vote

6 weeks ago The Federal government is set to run out of money by the end of this month, unless congress passes a short-term funding bill to get past election day, however, that might not be as easy as it sounds.
This time around, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is reportedly tying the funding levels – agreed to by Biden and then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy to the SAVE ACT when the House returns.
Meaning, the only way government will be funded through March is if they pass the election integrity bill along with it which requires proof of citizenship to register to vote in a federal election. Even though it’s already against the law for illegal migrants to register to vote in federal elections states across the nation have been finding thousands of non-citizens on their voter rolls, many of whom have voted in past elections.
Speaker Johnson needs 218 votes for it to pass.
