Suspect in Custody After Incendiary Device Ignited Outside New York Federal Building

A person is in custody after authorities say an incendiary device was ignited outside a federal building in Lower Manhattan on Monday morning, prompting an investigation by the FBI's New York Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The incident happened outside 26 Federal Plaza, which houses several federal agencies, including the FBI's New York office, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and an immigration court. Officials said the suspect allegedly deployed a makeshift incendiary device believed to have been made with fireworks and a flammable liquid before being taken into custody at the scene.
FBI Director Kash Patel said two people suffered minor injuries. Authorities temporarily secured the building and surrounding area while investigators processed the scene. Officials have not announced any charges or identified a motive, and the investigation remains ongoing.
