The Trump administration is moving forward with a new task force aimed at keeping the United States ahead in artificial intelligence.
President Donald Trump announced the "Super Intelligence Force" Sunday. The group will be led by National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton, along with officials from the Defense Department, Federal Trade Commission and Office of Personnel Management.
The task force will also work with AI companies and other outside groups. Its creation comes as the federal government faces growing calls for safeguards surrounding the rapidly developing technology.
