President Donald Trump has publicly reunited with his former personal attorney and one-time adversary Michael Cohen, appearing Thursday on Cohen’s 77 WABC radio show after years of bitter legal and political battles.
The interview was notably friendly, with Trump telling Cohen that he had been “weaponized” and praising him for recanting previous statements. Cohen said the two men have spoken several times over the past year and have decided to put their contentious history behind them.
Their relationship famously collapsed after Cohen became a key witness against Trump.
He testified before Congress, in Trump’s New York civil fraud case and during the 2024 criminal hush-money trial. Cohen has since criticized prosecutors and said he felt pressured and coerced to provide testimony that would help build cases against Trump.
Cohen said Thursday that he and Trump have now forgiven each other. He also revealed that he recently resubmitted an application seeking a presidential pardon from Trump and has not yet received a response from the White House.
