Trump Team Eyes Elon Musk For Cabinet Role Targeting Wasteful Spending

The Trump team is reportedly eyeing the billionaire businessman to comb through the government books and identify thousands of programs that can be cut.
The founder of Tesla and SpaceX has already expressed interest on X - in being part of the "government efficiency commission" aimed at eliminating wasteful regulations and spending.
Other names being tossed around for a commission spot reportedly include former FedEx CEO Fred Smith and former Home Depot CEO Robert Nardelli.
Economists say that cutting wasteful spending should be a high priority, especially since it hasn’t been done since President Ronald Reagan cut federal excess decades ago.
