USPS Begins 'Extraordinary Measures' For Ballot Mail

The U.S. Postal Service is preparing to implement what it calls extraordinary measures to ensure ballots are delivered on time.

It begins Saturday, and the extraordinary measures mostly take place behind the scenes.

Measures involve specialized sorting and handling of mail that is identified as ballots.

Special pick-ups are also included.

USPS recommends voters get their ballots in the mail at least a week before the date they must be received.
