USS Abraham Lincoln Returns Home After 10-Month Deployment

The USS Abraham Lincoln is returning to San Diego Thursday following a record 10-month deployment to the Middle East.

Ahead of the aircraft carrier's arrival, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited sailors and Marines aboard the vessel, presenting them with the Presidential Unit Citation in recognition of their service during the extended deployment.

The deployment was marked by reports of supply shortages, declining morale and multiple suicide attempts among personnel.

The carrier's return brings an end to a lengthy mission in the Middle East, where U.S. military forces have maintained a significant presence amid ongoing regional tensions.

The USS Abraham Lincoln's homecoming also marks a reunion for sailors, Marines and their families following months of separation.
