USS Abraham Lincoln Returns To U.S.

(San Diego, CA) -- The USS Abraham Lincoln is back home in San Diego. A large crowd of cheering family members and loved ones greeted the aircraft carrier as it pulled into port Thursday after a record ten-month long deployment to the Middle East. It was a deployment marked by reports of dwindling supplies, poor morale and multiple suicide attempts. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth flew out Wednesday to visit the sailors and Marines who've been part of the deployment. Hegseth acknowledged that it "wasn't easy," but credited the crew with having "changed the arc of history" and awarded them the highest unit-level military decoration possible - the Presidential Unit Citation.
