Utah Authorities Connect Ted Bundy To 1970s Homicide

(Summit County, UT) -- Serial killer Ted Bundy has been linked to a 1974 murder in Utah. The Summit County Sheriff's Office and Summit County Attorney's Office formally closed the cold case on Tuesday. Authorities said by using DNA and other evidence, they were able to prove that Bundy murdered 17-year old Melissa Ann Smith. Bundy has been considered a suspect in a number of cold cases in the state. The serial killer was put to death in Florida in 1989.
