Zohran Mamdani Sworn In As New York City’s Mayor

Zohran Mamdani has officially taken office as New York City’s mayor, promising to govern “expansively and audaciously.” He was sworn in just after midnight and later addressed supporters at City Hall. At 34, Mamdani becomes the city’s youngest mayor in more than a century and the first Muslim mayor in New York City history.
