Biden And Harris Survey Hurricane Damage In Southeast

2 weeks ago President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are visiting the Southeast to get a firsthand look at the damage from Hurricane Helene. They're seeking to demonstrate their commitment and competence in helping devastated communities after Donald Trump’s false claims about their administration’s response. Harris’ stop in Georgia on Wednesday will also serve as a political test. In the closing stretch of her campaign for president, Harris is trying to step into a role for which Biden is well known, namely showing the empathy that Americans expect in times of tragedy. Biden is stopping in North Carolina and South Carolina and said he'd see the “damage done.”
