Biden Student Loan Forgiveness Plan Gets Blocked In Latest Setback For Administration

1 week ago Andrew Bailey is taking a victory lap while announcing that the latest Biden student loan forgiveness plan was blocked. The Missouri Attorney General saying “We filed suit less than 48 hours ago. This is a HUGE victory for every American who won’t have to pay someone else’s Ivy League debt.”
His announcement comes after a U.S. Judge temporarily blocked the plan just days after seven Republican-led states filed a lawsuit to stop it.
The Judge saying the states were very likely to prove that the Dept. of Education lacked authority to cancel student loans, which the states alleged was about to happen.
Last month, a federal appeals court blocked Biden’s SAVE plan, which is an income-driven repayment program that lowers payments and accelerates student loan forgiveness.
