A Chicago police officer has been identified after a deadly shooting inside a hospital.
Authorities say 38-year-old John Bartholomew was killed while guarding a suspect at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital.
A second officer was also shot and remains in critical condition.
The suspect—who had been in custody on a robbery case—was later recaptured after fleeing the scene.
Investigators are still working to determine how he obtained a firearm.
