CIA Purging Probationary Employees As Trump Shakes Up Intelligence Community

9 weeks ago The CIA is laying off some recently hired officers as President Donald Trump's efforts to downsize and reshape the federal government take hold. The CIA said that it is reviewing personnel hired within the past two years and that officers whose behavior or suitability make them a poor fit for the agency will be let go. The agency won't say how many staffers are expected to be fired in total, but the cuts are part of sweeping job reductions at agencies across the federal government. While intelligence agencies have been spared the deepest cuts, they haven’t been immune.
Some agencies, like the U.S. AID have been largely dismantled.
In February the CIA offered buyouts to some employees.

Trump's recently confirmed CIA Director John Ratcliffe has promised to overhaul the agency and return its focus to human-gathered intelligence.
