Cruise Passengers Quarantined After Virus Outbreak
1 week ago
Passengers from a cruise ship linked to a deadly hantavirus outbreak have now returned to more than 20 countries, where many are being placed under quarantine and medical monitoring.
Health officials say a French woman who tested positive for the virus remains in intensive care at a Paris hospital but is reported to be in stable condition. In the United States, officials say one passenger who initially tested positive is not showing symptoms and will undergo additional testing.
Meanwhile, 16 American passengers are currently in quarantine in Nebraska as health officials continue monitoring for possible infections.
The World Health Organization has urged countries to closely track former passengers and quickly isolate any suspected cases as concerns grow over the international spread of the virus.
