Predictions of dangerous weekend weather came true as a dynamic storm spawned tornadoes, dust storms and wildfires that killed more than three dozen people. Hundreds of homes and businesses were destroyed.
In Tylertown, Mississippi, tornadoes ripped tall trees in half and wiped out entire neighborhoods. Six people were killed and more than 200 were displaced.
5 people were found dead in the rubble from a house in Wayne county Missouri.
The threat of fire remains due to strong wind in Texas and Oklahoma. More than 130 fires were reported across Oklahoma in the last few days and nearly 400 homes were damaged or destroyed.
The weakening but still volatile weather system is moving east with forecasters warning of dangerous winds from Florida to New Jersey on Monday, while heavy is expected to hit New York and New England.

Trump said land and power plants are part of the conversation around ending the war in Ukraine.
Trump orders airstrikes against Houthi rebels, at least 53 killed over the weekend
The United States under President Donald Trump has launched a new campaign of intense airstrikes targeting Yemen’s Houthi rebels. This weekend’s strikes killed at least 53 people, including children, and wounded others. The campaign is likely to continue, part of a wider pressure campaign by Trump now targeting the Houthis’ main benefactor Iran as well. The Houthi rebels had targeted over 100 merchant vessels with missiles and drones, sinking two vessels and killing four sailors, from November 2023 until January of this year. Trump said he wants to reopen Mideast waters affected by their campaign.

New Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has met with French President Emmanuel Macron as he seeks support from one of Canada’s oldest allies for a growing rift with U.S. President Donald Trump. Monday's trip is Carney’s first official foreign one since he was sworn in on March 14. He will next land in London.
