Illegal Migrant Crime A Top Issue For Voters, Victims Blame Kamala Open Border Policies For Violent Murders
1 day ago
There’s been a lot of talk about the southern border and the number of illegal migrants that have crossed into the country over the last three years. And now two new caravans – numbering around 2,500 – are on their way to the United States from Southern Mexico.
This as people who never even thought about illegal migration before - because they live thousands of miles away from the border – are saying it’s the deciding factor for their vote and the reason is because of the crime that’s coming with it.
The violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua that took over apartment complexes in Aurora Colorado – is said to have 600 members in the United States, according to DHS, 100 of those members recommended to be on the FBI’s most wanted list.
And their crimes are being felt in places like Wisconsin, Maine and even Michigan. Mothers are losing their daughters in the most violent ways, and people are saying they will be voting for a safer country - whether that means Trump or Harris is up for debate.
Salem News Channel’s Christina Aguayo takes a look at how migrant crime has impacted the country and who has the edge when it comes to securing the southern border.
One of the top issues facing the nation this election cycle is illegal migration. In fact, the crisis at the southern border comes in second only to the economy.
According to Pew Research 82% of Republicans and nearly 40% of Democrats say illegal migration is very important to their vote – which is up 13% from 2022
The millions of both illegal migrants, and migrants who have been allowed to pour into the U.S. through the Biden- Harris Parole Program, the CBP One App which streamlines entry into the country, and special migrant visas have impacted the daily lives of people across the nation, and many say they’re going to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
The issue gained national attention and sparked a political firestorm when an illegal migrant was arrested for the murder of 22-year-old Georgia Nursing Student Laken Riley who was killed while she was out for a jog.
Jose Ibarra was charged with murder. The Venezuelan crossed the border in 2022, was quickly paroled and released into the Country.
Brian Kemp- “Laken’s death is the direct result of policies on the federal level and an unwillingness by this White House to secure the southern border.”
Then there’s the case of 12-Year-Old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was raped for two hours before being strangled to death by two Venezuelan migrants who were also allowed to cross into the country, virtually unchecked
"Because of the Biden-Harris administration open border policies, catch and release, they were enrolled in the Alternatives to Detention program," Alexis Nungaray said. "This meant that they were released into the United States. It was not even a full three weeks later that they would take my daughter Jocelyn Nungaray’s life."
People started searching for answers from elected officials and the crisis at the southern border jumped into the election spotlight.
According to CBP about 9 million migrants have crossed into the country since 2021, not including the 2 million got-aways, the more than 800,000 migrants who entered the U.S. through the CBP One App in a year’s time, or the 30,000 flown into the country each month since January of 2023, through the Biden - Harris parole program.
Reports of the Biden -Harris administration’s reversing of Trump Era immigration policies became a mainstream talking point, and Kamala’s job as Border Czar was called into question, it was at this point that that people started taking a deeper look into what caused the crisis, and who was to blame.
Kamala’s subsequent visit to the border was labeled political optics by pundits on both sides,
National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez SLAMS Kamala for coming to Texas and not addressing the border crisis
while Trump’s visit to the border, with the families of the victims of migrant crimes made a major impact in the minds of voters, on who would better secure the border
The separation widened when Democrats attempted to politicize the migrant murders, by telling the mothers of the victims they were only speaking out against the problem, because they were being used by the Republicans.
As the list of migrant crime victims continued to grow, the issue of illegal migration became a top issue for voters, each tragic loss spotlighting the problem that was impacting states across the nation.
Like Rachel Morin – the mother of five from Maryland who was raped and murdered on a popular trail by an illegal migrant
25-year-old Ruby Garcia who was shot at point blank range in Michigan, then thrown out of her vehicle on a highway by an illegal who had been previously deported, a married couple in Florida who were stabbed to death by an illegal from Haiti while they were riding their bikes for a Bike Week event, the murder of North Carolina sheriff's K9 Deputy Ned Byrd and the list goes on and on.
The migrant crime issue was no longer isolated to border towns but was impacting people hundreds if not thousands of miles from the border, and even though Kamala was in the white house for the last 3.5 years, and was part of an administration that issued dozens of executive actions erasing border security measures enacted by President Donald Trump, she refused to take any accountability.
Then, when the Violent Venezuelan gang Tren De Aragua took over multiple apartment complexes in Aurora Colorado, people looked to their Governor for answers, only to have Democrat Jared Polis say it was all imaginary. However, the management company made a public statement verifying the takeovers and showing proof of a brutal beating of one of their employees.
Then days before November 5th, Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky, posted documents and emails to her X account, showing that Colorado officials knew about the gang takeover a year before it hit the national headlines – and confirmed that the gang is "still very much in control" of the apartment buildings.
And finally, confirmation from DHS who announced at about the same time that they identified 600 members of Tren De Aragua in the country, with 100 recommended to be put on the FBI watchlist.
It wasn’t a good sign for the administration when left leaning outlets like CNN started questioning their stance on Border security, and the border wall.
Confidence in the current regime’s ability to secure the border sank to new lows, and suffered even more when a bombshell report was released, revealing that more than 435,000 migrant criminals, including 13,000 convicted of homicide, were running around the country. The message from Trump opposite that of Kamala’s and resonating with voters, even in Deep Blue New York
According to a Wall Street Journal poll, Trump has the 15-point lead over Kamala when it comes to securing the southern border and solving the migrant crisis.
Something the American people have indicated they’re extremely concerned about especially after it was revealed that there has been a 3000% increase in migrants on the terror watchlist that have come into the country during the Biden– Harris administration, one of whom, an Afghan migrant who was flown in shortly after the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, was recently arrested for planning an election day terror attack on U.S. soil.
This issue alone, could have an astounding impact on the outcome of the election.
