New Mexico Sues DOJ Over Epstein Records

New Mexico has filed a federal lawsuit against the Justice Department and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, accusing the federal government of blocking the state's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's alleged sex crimes at his New Mexico ranch.
State Attorney General Raúl Torrez says the Justice Department has repeatedly refused to provide investigative records that could help determine whether additional criminal charges are possible. The lawsuit argues New Mexico remains one of the few jurisdictions that could still pursue cases involving Epstein's alleged associates.
The Justice Department says it is withholding certain records to protect victims' identities and comply with federal court orders, but says it remains willing to assist the state's investigation within those legal limits.
