Second Lady Usha Vance Will Visit Greenland As Trump Talks Up U.S. Takeover

Second lady Usha Vance is set to travel to Greenland this week as President Donald Trump continues to suggest the U.S. could take control of the mineral-rich Artic island. Her office says Vance will leave Thursday and return Saturday. The wife of Vice President JD Vance will be part of a U.S. delegation set to “visit historical sites, learn about Greenlandic heritage, and attend the Avannaata Qimussersu, Greenland’s national dogsled race.” Greenland is a self-governing region of Denmark, a NATO ally of the United States. But Trump has said repeatedly that he thinks the U.S. should take Greenland for strategic and national security purposes.
