U.S. Senator Says Mysterious Drones Should Be 'Shot Down'
A U.S. senator has called for mysterious drones spotted flying over sensitive areas in New Jersey to be “shot down, if necessary." The drones have also been seen over other parts of the Mid-Atlantic region. It remains unclear who owns them. Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut says Americans urgently need some intelligence analysis on the issue. The Democrat's remarks on Thursday come as concerns about the drones spread across Capitol Hill. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and law enforcement officials have stressed that the drones don’t appear to threaten public safety. The FBI is asking residents to share any images or information they may have.
