U.S. Updates Turks And Caicos Travel Advisory To Include Firearms, Ammunition

6 weeks ago The U.S. Department of State has updated its Turks and Caicos Islands travel advisory to reflect information on traveling with firearms and ammunition.

Firearms and ammunition, including single bullets brought by mistake in carry-on bags or luggage, are illegal. Police strictly enforce these laws and travelers face arrest, jail time, and heavy fines if they break them. Some U.S. citizens have been detained and unable to depart for several weeks or more after they're found with bullets in their luggage. Offenders can face 12 years or more in prison.
