Victim's Family Files $250M In Legal Claims Against FAA, Army Over D.C. Aircraft Crash

26 weeks ago The wife of a Connecticut man who died in last month’s collision between a passenger jet and a military helicopter in Washington, D.C, has filed what are believed to be the first legal claims over the crash that killed 67 people. The claims by Rachel Crafton were filed Tuesday against the Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. Army. They both seek $250 million for alleged wrongdoing that led to the collision and death of 40-year-old Casey Crafton, of Salem, Connecticut. If the FAA and Army reject or don't act on the claims within six months, a lawsuit can be filed. The FAA says it doesn't comment on litigation. The Army didn't immediately respond to a message.
