Violent Migrant Gang Known To Aurora Authorities A Year Before Taking Over Apartment Complexes In Colorado, Emails Show
2 weeks ago
A City Council member in Aurora, Danielle Jurinsky, is posting documents and emails to her X account, saying they prove that police knew about the violent Venezuelan Gang Tren De Aragua taking over apartment complexes in the city, more than a year before the news hit national headlines.
The emails are from within the Aurora Police Department and talk about the major gang activity happening in the area.
In one of the posts she wrote: confirming that officers were advised to respond in numbers and with an armored vehicle to Whispering Pines. A report was made that "these guys" have over 200 people working for them. Still not a gang takeover over the complex? It's all going to come out...she wrote,
In another post she wrote Subject line: Tren de Aragua ICE notifies the Aurora PD
that "TdA has decided to make Denver their headquarters due to sanctuary policies and location." (Thank you Governor Jared Polis)
She proceeds to ask Did anyone reach out to the state? Did the Denver Mayor know this? Did Commander Chris Poppe who oversaw all of these specialized units in APD actually do anything? Stay tuned...
She also said that the gang is "still very much in control" of the apartment buildings.
The info came just one day after DHS identified more than 600 migrants in the country with possible ties to Tren De Aragua, 100 of them recommended to be put on the FBI watchlist.
