E. Jean Carroll Seeks $5.8 Million From Trump

Writer E. Jean Carroll is asking a federal judge to order President Trump to pay nearly $5.8 million following a 2023 civil verdict against him.
Carroll's attorneys filed papers in Manhattan federal court after the Supreme Court declined to hear Trump's appeal of the verdict.
The jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation, awarding Carroll $5 million. That amount has since grown to nearly $5.8 million with interest.
Her attorneys say Trump should no longer be allowed to delay payment.
