Texas AG Sues County Over Illegally Mass Mailing Voter Registration Applications

1 week ago Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing a County Commissioners Court after it voted to pass an illegal program that would mass-mail voter registration applications out regardless of if the voter requested it, or if the person is even eligible to vote.
Paxton taking to social media saying,
Despite being warned against adopting this blatantly illegal program that would spend taxpayer dollars, Bexar County has irresponsibly chosen to violate the law. This program potentially invites election fraud. It is a crime to register to vote if you are ineligible.
The program pays a third-party vendor to print and distribute registration forms to unregistered people in the county. Texas counties do not have statutory authority to print and mail state voter registration forms, making the proposal fundamentally illegal.
