Xi Raises Taiwan Concerns During Trump Summit

China’s President Xi Jinping warned President Donald Trump that tensions over Taiwan could lead to conflict if not handled carefully during a high-stakes summit in Beijing on Thursday.

The meeting highlighted continuing divisions between the two leaders on issues including trade, Iran, and U.S. relations with Taiwan.

China claims Taiwan as part of its territory, while the self-governed island continues to operate independently.
